Essential for any Irish History student
This book represents one of the most in deph and intriging studies of the United Irishmen, tracing their roots and detailing all aspects of the society up until the 1798 rebellion. While i do not always agree with some of Curtins opinions,which at disagree with many other prominent Irish historians, the are always well argued and challenge the reader to reassess their own opinions. It is an essential text for any student or history enthusiast on 1800 Ireland the United Irishmen and their push for parlimenary reform. Well worth buying.
