This is the complete and official story of one of the most compelling seasons ever in the top level of motorcycle racing. Valentino Rossi was back to his best as he bid to break the dominance Casey Stoner and Ducati enjoyed in 2007 - and he did it in record-breaking style. The season will also be remembered for the emergence of incredible new talent, including Jorge Lorenzo and Britain's James Toseland. The Official DVD Review brings you comprehensive coverage of every race, with fast and furious track action caught from all the best camera angles, including plenty of on-bike footage. There's also rider interviews, a look behind-the-scenes and many more bonus features to make this the complete story of the awesome 2008 season

Duke MotoGP 2008 DVD - watch it on BBC iPlayer instead!
I saw the BBC coverage of the 2008 Laguna Seca race and was looking forward to sharing this with my dad over Xmas in the Duke 2008 review DVD.
However, on a initial viewing I'm not going to bother. The sporadic commentary is amateurish and uninformed and the editing is woeful.
In an action packed race they opted to spend the time set aside on multiple replays of crashes and shots of garage crew looking bored (for no apparent reason).
The battle between the top two was just plain confusing and managed to lose any sense of the race long drama that actually occurred. In addition there was no clear picture of what was happening with anyone other than the leaders. I appreciate that this is a seasons review and they have to cram in a lot of footage into 180mins. But this formula of - string together a few crashes (repeat at least twice), add a couple of overtakes, plus some random pitlane footage and then quickly add a commentary over the top - is just lazy. It appears to have been rushed out in time for Xmas.
I'm sure I've had a good British Superbike DVD from Duke before (2006?) but this effort means I won't be buying from them again for the forseeable future. Disappointing.
MOTO GP Review 2008
waste of money. I'm returning it. Looks like it was edited by a child.
The BSB dvds are fantastic, buy them instead and support the uk racer boys!!!
Disappointed
I have to admit I was very disappointed with this dvd. Very boring commentary and no interviews or behind the scenes info. It made what was a very entertaining motogp season appear very dull. A great shame!!
