Works just like a real telephone5
    Updated again in October 2009...

So here we are almost four years after I bought this phone and I am pleased to say my original view was correct; it is solid and well made. (I just wish I could say the same for other 'phones around the house, but that's another story.)

Reason for writing this update is that I have heard of people having problems loading software for this 'phone. It can be a problem if you just plug in the USB lead and then expect it work... What you do need to do is to run the installation disk first, before you plug in the USB connection. If you do it this way round then you should have no problems and, yes, it works just fine under Vista as well as XP.

The only thing you may need to do, depending on how you've set up Skype, is to go into the Skype options and "allow" the software as part of the "manage other programs access to Skype".

    Updated in April 2007...

I'm still very pleased with the 'phone, so much so that I have just given the original one to my mother, and ordered exactly the same again for myself.

The original review, below, is still completely valid, except that the current model also works as a speakerphone, which the original didn't.

    Orignial Review:

I use Skype a lot for my working from home and this has given me an office phone just where it need it.

If you already use Skype then you will know about how to dial and the such like - this phone makes the interface really easy.

When a call comes in, just lift the handset and you're connected.

When you want to make a call, lift the handset and the Skype pop-up appears on your screen. You can flip between the Skype tabs directly from the phone, and also scroll down the entries, once again directly from the phone. Or, if you prefer, you can just dial on the phone keypad. Press the button and Skype starts dialing.

If you log on and there is voicemail waiting for you, the phone even flashes a blue light to let you know that something is waiting.

The phone feels well made and solid.

I'm happy that I bought it.

    my new skype phone5
very prompt delivery service from amazon.the phone looks great it feels very solid in my hand the blue neon light on the top of the handset is a nice design touch so all the you computer owners who buy it will have to install blue neon modding light kits in you computers to match!(im kidding!).
The voice activated dialling is very good indeed
very impressive. On the whole its very nice phone well designed
amazon are selling the cyberphone w at almost half the price that skype.com have it for on there website shop and you get a free 30min skype call voucher in the box brilliant! thanks amazon

    Neat piece of kit5
I was new to skype when I bought this and it's great. I'd used a USB internet phone from Tesco in the UK that was just dreadful, so my expectations were mixed. This made me realise what the big deal is with Skype. It's just like a normal phone and somehow very pleasing to use. Very much recommended.
