Customer Reviews
Perfection at £30
Hewlett-Packard have once again created a very successful all-in-one, and for under £30 you can not complain.
My respects go to the previous reviewer Marko, however I had no trouble at all in setting up this printer using the accompanying software via CD-ROM on XP. Indeed I found the whole experience in setting up a pleasure, and had a working printer connected up within ten minutes.
It is true that this printer is not extremely fast; with a black and white print-out taking approximately twenty seconds, however if you want a fast photo printer users should be looking at more up market products. The truth of the matter is this printer / all in one will produce excellent documentation print-outs and is extremely quick and useful at scanning and copying using the provided software and applications.
My only complaint, I was under the impression this unit would come with ALL of the required leads to connect to the computer system, however I was required to purchase a separate USB lead to connect the printer to my computer, setting me back £5. Otherwise this is a very neat little printer perfect for occasional printing. As a student, I find this printer invaluable.
HP Printers are ideal for home use
I have always been a fan of HP printers /all in ones and my latest purchase of this model has not disappointed my expectations.
I have never had any problems with the functioning of HP product (unlike for example Epson which I have bought twice and have had to have a refund on both occasions).
They have lasted me a good many thousand of pages (I'd say 15,000+ which is about 3-4 years for me) before they start to get a bit worn out!
I find HP better than other models because of its compactness. The fact the paper is loaded and comes out from the same area is a big plus in its design.
I wouldn't buy a non-HP printer now.
One draw back is that ink cartridges can be expensive (tho not significantly more than for other makes) but sites such as Cartridge People sell the originals for about £12 (free P&P), and compatibles for about £6. Look on Kelkoo or PriceRunner to find the site that is selling the ink you need at the lowest price.
For less than £30, I think it is a bargain not to be missed!
Fantastic Little Printer
I have just purchased this for £29.99 from Sainsburys and am extremely pleased with it. I purchased it as a replacement for an Epson DX7400 which was blooming awful. The cartridges in it only printed about 40 pages before they ran out, so I purchased compatible ones, only for the DX7400 not to recognises them. I have now seen sense and gone back to HP. I have always used HP printers and always been extremely happy with them, and although the original ink is expensive I have usually found them to last a very long time. It is also very small so it fits into my PC desk no problem. Very pleased with the results. Excellent quality.
