Average customer review:Product Description
In a similar vein to White Ladder's successful Out of Your Townie Mind, about moving to the country, Au Revoir Angleterre takes the top dreams people have when they make the decision to move abroad. Based on a survey of aspiring ex-pats and those who have made the move, it examines each dream in turn and looks at the reality behind it. Encouraging but firmly realistic, it prepares people to make the move with their eyes open, and avoid potential disasters.

Editorial Reviews
From the Author
If you live in the UK simply because you were born there, you're denying yourself 99.8% of the world's land surface - and especially an EU which stretches from the Atlantic to the Aegean and from inside the Arctic Circle to the Mediterranean. And it's all yours. Somewhere out there could be the perfect place for you. We moved abroad 15 years ago and are deliriously happy. How have we succeeded so spectacularly when many others have failed? That's what we tell you in the book. The most important ingredients are an open mind, a willingness to see life as an adventure, a solid relationship (if you're a couple) and taking the time to get the details right. Do it, but don't rush it.
About the Author
Paul Jenner and Christine Smith said au revoir to Angleterre fifteen years ago, initially living in France and now Spain, in a converted water mill just behind the Costa Brava. They are co-authors of Berlitz Discover Pyrenees, Landscapes of the Pyrenees, Rough Guide To The Pyrenees (1st edition) and The Landscapes Walking Companion. Their analyses of holiday and second-home trends have been published by the Economist Intelligence Unit and Mintel.
Customer Reviews
Read with care. The dream is possible.
This book could change your life. It really makes you realise that 'the move' is not just a possibility. Lots of good information and words of wisdom on things you might not have thought of. Not just a manual; a good read as well.
Could make you dare your dream
I'm off. For years I've thought about it and now, after one reading of this book, I'm off. It has made me want to go so much - and made me carry out a reality check - and so I'm off. I loved the idea of checking out the top 24 dreams - I had about seven of them. I will now dare my dream and can't wait. A super book that will get you up of your backside and onto the plane.
Before you go - check here first!
This is a very simple book, it asks simple deliberate questions - but if you don't answer them HONESTLY, and FOR YOURSELF, you'll be heading for cloud-cuckoo land in a canoe without a paddle!
Paul and Christine don't want to make it hard on you, they want YOU to decide whether YOU want it hard for yourself, so if you're planning that 'adventure', you'd better take a long (and maybe uncomfortable), look in the mirror first!
Get this book, it's all summed up neatly here.
Then, if you think it's 'right for you' we'll see you in Europe!
