Product Description

Each chapter begins with classic lingerie pieces and how-to text on constructing them and then segues into modern, fresh interpretations that can be worn as underwear or outerwear. For example, in the camisole chapter, after teaching knitters how to make a classic camisole, the author presents a twinset as well as a dress that is drawn upon classic camisole styling details. The text also gives an overview of the history of these lingerie styles. "Knitting Lingerie Style" includes projects that are both youthful and body-baring as well as mature and classic. Sizing is broad. "Knitting Lingerie Style" will appeal to a diverse population of hobby knitters, young and old, as well as professional knitwear designers who, until now, have not had access to a book that explains the particular challenges that lingerie styles present.

Really interesting...3
I welcome a book that covers an under-represented area on our already over-stuffed knitting shelves. I have reservations about how useful some on the patterns are, and I think some of the designes rather impractical. (Hands up who wants a pair of knitted knickers?) Whilst the idea of knitting a bra sounds like fun (well it did to me anyway) once you have read the long list of notions you require to complete the item, the enthusiasm for the project has waned somewhat. I thought what was good about the book was the fairly large number of useful looking fitted tops of one sort or another - none of them a major knitting commitment. The patterning was a little uninspired. This is an American book, so be prepared to make yarn sustitutions or to buy yarn over the net.

knitting lingerie style4
This is a truely beautiful book it is packed with patterns all of which I want to knit NOW!!! On first glances some of the patterns look quite complex so perhaps not one for a beginner. My only gripe is that being an american book the only place I can get the beautiful yarns is over the internet, however the author very cleverly gives weights and yardage for each yarn used so with a little research finding alternative yarns would be possible. The other great thing is that being a book of lingerie based designs most use only a small amount of wool, perfect for those stashed away luxury yarns that were too expensive to buy lots of!!All in all a fabulous book, if like me you are a 'knit addict' you HAVE to have this book!!

Terrific book5
There are many designs in this lovely book which I shall take great pleasure in making. The styles are more delicate and intricate than those in most books of knitting patterns. The styles, although designed as lingerie, are very suitable for wearing as summer tops. A lovely book and worth every penny.
