If you have never tiled before, there are many useful points and information, particularly about tools for the job and how to set out and mark up a wall.
Some of the suggestions, such as using masking tape to hold tiles in place when tiling from top down ( page 91 ) are nonsense - just can never work - seems to be written by someone who has never laid a tile in their life. Lots of the materials used are not the same as those here or are called different things here - such as " thinset" or "modified mortar". Many really useful tricks of the trade are missing. Therefore, overall, although a good introduction to the subject it is disappointing and could lead to a lot of time being spent on trying a wrong method.
