Very useful book for beginner or expert tile layers. Great pictures, illustrations, and instructions. Gives you in-depth help on doing tile projects for your home. I highly recommend this book. --BJones

Good, Solid Read on Domestic Tiling
This book is very American. This surprised me a little, as I had always though (possibly mistakenly) of Black & Decker as being a UK company. It's full of perma-tanned guys and gals wearing plaid shirts tucked into their jeans and buck-skin work gloves. There is some slightly non-UK centric language used for construction techniques and tools, and a lot of talk about feet & inches, as you'd expect. That aside, there is a good range of tiling technique in evidence, and I'd say 90% of it is relevant to Brits. This is only partly a technical text. A large proportion of content is given over to nicely rendered photos of tiled bathrooms & kitchens, with the odd coffee table and even bed headboard thrown in for good measure. A few of the design examples are a little cheesy, and probably appeal more to American tastes, but there is enough generic hotel style design to make it worth a look. For the price though, I don't think you can argue that it offers value for money. If you're not already a tiling officionado, or you are but want a few design ideas, and don't want to resort to pinching brochures from your local designed bathroom shop, this could be the book for you. Not perfect, but not at all bad either.

Excellent guide for the DIY buff
I recently bought several bks on tiling and this guide is the most varied. The photos are very good, the content covers all areas of tiling and all in all it's a terrific bk for anyone interested in tiling. The scope of projects and material covered is trully inspirational. I'd recommend this bk to anyone.Excellent !
