Product Description

The idea of this book is to help build confidence with maths via a series of tests and puzzles.  After a gentle ′warm–up′ section, the puzzles and tests get progressively more challenging over the course of the book.  There is a hints section for readers who get stuck, as well as a complete set of answers for every test at the back of the book.

After the ′warm–up′ section, there are puzzles and tests on ′lateral thinking′, ′fun with numbers′,  ′logic puzzles′, ′geometrical puzzles′ and ′difficult puzzles′. Readers will soon become familiar and comfortable with a range of tricks and tests, from magic number squares to Fibonacci numbers.

Don't buy1
The title of this book is 'The Complete Book of Fun Maths: 250 Confidence-boosting Tricks, Tests and Puzzles'. Firstly, this book is NOT complete, it is NOT fun, it does NOT boost your confidence and it doesn't show you any tricks. This book is good if you want to solve puzzles, but thats it. I don't recommend it.

brilliant!5
I was shocked to see this book with a one star review.
I have used the puzzles/questions from this book as 'bell' activities (on the board when the pupils come into class)for ages 11 through to 18 taking no more than five minutes to look at them. Most pupils are challenged as they are required to think mentally and in an abstract way. I have sometimes used the same puzzle for all age groups and the older ones find them more difficult as they think too hard about them.
My colleagues have expressed interest in the book and i'm sure it won't be long before more have them.
I wish they'd issue a second book of ... as i need some new 'bell' activities and this is the only book i've come across that has been suitable.
