Alex Howard was a normal, happy teenager until just before his sixteenth birthday when he began to experience strange, unexplained physical symptoms. In time he was diagnosed with ME (or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), a severe illness that the medical profession has yet to offer anyexplanation or cure for. After spending two years bed-bound and developing clinical depression, Alex committed himself to finding a cure and returning himself to health and happiness. This book follows him on an amazing journey that will challenge your most basic assumptions about life.

Customer Reviews
Its good... and not so good
I have suffered from ME for 4 yrs and this book was recommended to me by an NLP person i was seeing.
There are good things about this book, it was comfortaing to read an account of someone in a similer condition to me and hear about an eventual recovery, it help strengthened my resolve to look for more things to improve my condition, but...
Its not very well writen, in fact i almost stopped halfway through the first chapter and its clumsy overwritten sentences.
Also there is alot of New Age speil. Alex Howard states as fact that he chose to get ME before he was born so as to learn a lession in this life, not everyone can stomach this kind of thing. Also there isnt much in the way of specifics about how he got better for that you would have to buy his healing ME audio collection, so if your looking to recover from ME maybe you should just buy that.
ME but not as we know it?
What an absolute pile of dross.
After reading the book I think it sounds more like a description of somatisation disorder than ME. You can cure yourself of the former but not the latter.
Life-Changing
What a breath of fresh air! I was hooked from the first page, and found the author's style easy to digest (impressive for one so young). For me, this book was truly inspiring and would recommend it to everyone, especially those who suffer with ME. Alex bravely shares his intimate thoughts with us, and this book has 'woken' me up to many things, I am very interested to see what else Alex has instore for us!!
