Excellent Sports Watch!
Don't be mislead by the low price of this watch: it may have all you need and more.
It certainly does for me: I bought it as a second watch for my "advance amateur" sports activities: cycling, running, swimming and sailing.
Design is very sleek and light, it sits comfortably on the wrist. Its sphere has a reasonable medium size, I would say this could be a unisex watch.
Two strong points:
- simplicity of use.
- display visibility: You can still see the display in the swimming pool through your goggles or at a glance while sprinting for example.
Operator's manual is virtually not needed since it has a very intuitive interface, including on-screen help texts for some functions.
It features:
>Date&time for 3 different time zones: With a push button you can simply check for a specific time zone or hold it a few Secs to set it as your current time. Very useful if you travel o communicate regularly with other countries.
> Cronograph: resolves 1/100 Sec and measures elapsed time: display can be configured to show Lap time or Split time, even after the measurements have been taken. You can recall up to 30 lap readings, but still you can take and see as many lap shots as you like, it will always remember only the last 30 though.
> Down-count timer: can be configured for single or continuous run. It will sound an alarm for 10sec every time time the counter reaches 0:00.
> Alarms: 3 different alarms, each one can be configured individually for weekdays, weekend or always.
> Reminder: You can setup a reminder, to sound at a given date and time.
> Backlight: is very sleek fluorescent type, and can be configured to auto-lit with the shake of your wrist.
> 100m waterproof. I personally never trust water resistance claims from watch manufacturers; however I subjected mine to several swimming sessions already (1 hour continuous crawl stroke) and had no problems so far.
> You can also disable the functions you do not use frequently to simplify your navigation through function menus (in mine I have disabled alarms 2 & 3 and the reminder, for example).
Overall a super performance watch if you do not want to spend too much, you cannot be wrong at that price.
Timex Ironman
