Editorial Reviews
Amazon.co.uk Review
Tina Turner's phenomenal reclamation of her stardom is perfectly chronicled on Simply the Best. With the exception of the Phil Spector epic "River Deep, Mountain High", everything included here comes from 1983 on. Turner's iconic voice and bluesy earnestness surface on a cover of Al Green's "Let's Stay Together"; she brings a moody sensuality to "I Can't Stand the Rain". Equally adept at rock, soul, gospel and R&B, Turner makes ordinary songs such as "Typical Male" and "Private Dancer" into extraordinary recordings. There are actually better Tina albums than Simply the Best but it stands as a useful compilation of her comeback hits. --Steve Gdula

Tina at her Best
Quite simply the Best solo Tina Turner collection ever. All of her hits from the 80's plus some.
If you're a fan of Tina during her period with Ike, though, you might want to look for another.
Ageless
I bought this album after listening to radio 2. Private Dancer was played and I was doing some emulsion painting. I just caught the timbre and resonance of this ladies voice and thought I want some in my collection. I have been a fan of hers since 'River Deep Mountain High'. I was an impressionable kid then but I listened to that track on this collection and guess what that song is as good today as it was then, it really is just listen with open ears, it has that power that can blow emotional shivers through a person, rare and timeless. This is the only Tina I have at present and it is a good collection, hardly a poor track, buy it with confidence.
would be five but 2 songs are missing
I bought mine when it first came out and it has 18 songs on it not 16 the other two are I CAN'T STAND THE RAIN and THE WAY OF THE WORLD both songs are fab and much better than IT TAKES TWO or the horrible ADDICTED TO LOVE (LIVE).if two had to come off for god only knows what reason could it not have been them.
