A must have book
just returned from a week in new york and we took this book everywhere with us. helped with sight seeing, shopping (esp discount designer stores if you cant afford bloomingdales!), eating, theatre, travel - basically everything. don't go without it. ps shrek the musical on broadway was brilliant.

OUT of date
I bought this book from a bookstore and not on Amazon but I warn you DO NOT buy this book. First this book is claimed to be 2009 edition but the website quoted for the statue of liberty no longer exists and one hostel's telephone number is 'not in service' second the website that is supposedly a supplement to the book giving up to date information seems not to have been updated since 2005. I really regret buying this book. Do not make the same mistake as I did.

Top Guide
Another excellent 'Brits guide'. Last year I bought the Brit's Guide to Orlando which was also excellent. Due to this I didn't hesitate buying the New York guide and I don't regret it.
The book is broken down into easy to refer to sections and has loads of useful hints and tips (not just for the Brit's but for everyone).
I have found some guide books to be stuffy and discriminatory towards certain towns/restaurants/hotels etc but you get none of this here just straight forward information with inviting pictures often alongside (so it doesn't feel like you've picked up a long winded novel!)

Recommended highly.
