Product Description

A baby girl is rescued from a snowy path in the woods. A baby boy is stillborn. A young Queen is taken ill. An ExtraOrdinary Wizard mysteriously resigns from his post. And all on the same night. A string of events, seemingly unconnected, begins to converge ten years later, when the Heap family receive a knock at the door. The evil Necromancer DomDaniel is plotting his comeback and a Major Obstacle resides in the Heap family. Life as they know is about to change, and the most fantastically fast-paced adventure of confused identities, magyk and mayhem, begin.

Customer Reviews

Magyk by Angie Sage5
My eleven year old son has never been a reader but when he saw the cover of Magyk in tescos he asked me if I would buy it for him.Another wasted purchase I thought! However we had only travelled a few miles before he was completely engrossed! Words like brilliant, fantastic and can I go to bed early to read please were coming from the back of the car!!The chapters are fairly short, the pace is quick, add a touch of magyk, wizardry and evil and voila my son is hooked and waiting for the next instalment.I hope book two is as spellbinding!

Kept me up all night!5
I started to read Magyk with my son of ten. He went to bed at midnight as he could not keep his eyes open any longer and I continued to read all night!! I was so sorry the next morning when the book was finished and can't wait to read book 2. As I write this my son is lying on the floor, which is where he has been all evening, and is reading the book avidly. What wonderful story.

Septimus Heap you won't put it down!5
I originally bought this book for my eight year old son, but picked it up one afternoon and soon found that I was consumed with the narrative. Its a spellbinding mix of magic, puzzle and intrigue that will leave you desperately awaiting the next installment. I can recommend this book to children and adults, and I am going to read this as a class novel to my year four children in September. The short quirky chapters make it easy to read in short bursts, but I Promise you, it won't take you long to realise that you can't put it down. It's been along time since I have been inspired to read with such zest, in fact the last time was when I first read The Lion the Witch and The Wardrobe. Dare I say it, I think it is better than Harry Potter!!
