Keep this in the car at all times
Being a real ale fan I have always relied on the Good Beer Guide, but that lacks any thought to eating. Real beer drinkers obvisously don't care about food!

This book is really useful as it focusses on food but doesn't miss the essentials when it comes to beer. The reccomendations sampled so far have all been excellent.

Eating out in pubs (Michelin)
This guide is an absolute must if you want to avoid the mediocre food that is served in many pubs across the country! - It will pay for itself the very first time you use it to dine in a previously untried venue, - A real gem!!

Don't leave the house without it!
I've got a couple of these guides from different years and have discovered some wonderful places to eat. The best thing about it is if your visiting another part of the country you can find somewhere reliable to have good food, and it'll tell you if it has b&b rooms to stay in, opening times and prices etc so it's great for planning journeys/holidays.
You can tell if a guide knows its stuff but which of your local pubs it's listed and I can vouch it's got Cornwall and Devon just right.
