The Scottish Insurrection of 18205
I found this book simply surprising. The fact that there was an insurrection in 1820 was simply news to me. The movement to declare an independent Scotland is often depicted as a purely 20th century affair in the form of the SNP.

This book provides a very comprehensive and informative introduction to a period of Scotland's history that has simply been ignored or covered up. The book is well written. It keeps your attention to the end. It also leaves you with an interesting what if...... If the 1820 Insurrection had worked would the Scottish Parliament have re-opened years ago as the Parliament of a properly independent nation?
