TomTom1 XL SatNav System.
I tow a touring caravan and changes to the road system over the last ten years have made navigation, using road maps more confusing. Some roundabouts have three or four lane approaches and with heavy traffic density, high sided vehicles in all lanes blocking views of road signs and covering road markings it is easy to take a wrong exit. Recovery to the desired route can put several extra miles on the intended journey.

This gives timely and accurate instructions to ensure correct navigation through the roundabout.
If selecting other than the fastest route a check must be made against an ordnance survey map to avoid being directed to unclassified and unsuitable roads, low bridges or harsh traffic calming obstructions.

The offer of one free map and speed camera software only gave one increment on the software on the CD. The latest update is only available by registering for regular updates with a monthly Direct Debit authorisation. The free update was to version 8.016 and the latest version, for which TomTom wanted Direct Debit authorisation was given as 8.25. I found this somewhat disappointing!

Having returned 2 equivalent RAC devices to Amazon I must say I am very pleased with the Tom Tom equivalent. It actually works (unlike the RAC Sat Nav units). Simple to operate with clear instructions. It took 1 hour to download the up to date map but this is probably a reflection of my slow internet speed here in East Kent where we have very poor internet connections. I like the speed warning options and would certainly recommend this to other potential buyers.

I did a lot of research before I bought this item and I am very pleased with it. One of the reviews I read said that it would not work in a Peugeot.I have two cars both Peugeot and it works perfectly in both cars in fact it is better than the built in satnav.
