Fun for kids big and small5
This set is great way to start a collection. It comes with every thing needed to get you going, track, trains and even the extra track set 'a'. I bought it for my boyfriend who loves modelling and his set has been growing ever since, it has also been a big hit with my nephew.
The add ons available are great, from extra track to accessories. My favourite is the passenger foot bridge.
Be warned, once you start it can take over your whole house!

    Highly Recommended!5
I got this for my 10 year old who helped me write this review. This fantastic bright colourful intercity 125 virgin train is perfect for loco lovers from the age of 8 to 80. It is the sort of thing that you will love so much that your mum has to come in at 10 o'clock every night to tell you to stop playing with it! But there is a downside. For example if you rev it up to full speed too quickly the engine sounds like it will blow up. But apart from that it is the best thing a train lover could want. A perfect starter pack with a great looking train, carriages, track and easy to operate controller.

    Virgin Train 1253
    Good Points:
    > Is a good collectors toy.
    > Very realistic the train is. With derailments like they actually have in real life (except for the destruction).
    > Very suitable for a young adult interested in trains (like myself).
    > Has a good sensitive DCC knob, so the train can go very slow or very fast.

    Bad Points:
    > Is not a toy for babies, as the train is very delicate and something on the train could break. e.g the tag that joins the trains together.
    > Easily derailed, the train is very easily derailed if you're going too fast or you have not put the track together properly.
    > When the train does derail it can be quite hard to put back on the tracks.
    > The track is quite expensive to buy, it's close to £1 per piece.
