Manufacturer's Description
The Procter Pest-Stop 3000 (Professional) Ultrasonic and Electromagnetic Repeller is a technologically advanced and powerful device to repel mice, rats, spiders, mosquitoes, ants and other crawling insects. The repeller uses fluctuating ultrasonic waves to cause auditory stress to pests and disrupts their normal behaviour, making it uncomfortable for them to stay in the same room as the device, enabling the user to rid an area of pests without the use of traps or chemicals. Ultrasound can be set to target specific pests on this unit, maximising the effectiveness of the ultrasound function. The mosquito setting emits an ultrasonic signal, which is designed to deter mosquitoes in the room where the unit is positioned, so is ideal for foreign holidays.
The electromagnetic function uses every electrical cable in the building to carry and transmit a signal which can be detected by the pests up to 1 metre from any cable, even inside wall and ceiling spaces, and will then repel them.
The device plugs into a standard three pin socket, so it can be used in any room of the house and is safe to use in the vicinity of humans, cats, dogs, fish and birds. It will cover a house or other building such as a pub, restaurant or office of up to 3000 square feet, and the ultrasonic function will work best when there are few obstructions in its way.
The Procter Pest-Stop 3000 repeller is supplied ready for immediate use and comes complete with instructions.

This got rid of mice AND spiders
I live adjacent to a number of fields in Aberdeen, and see alot of mice around. I was very very sceptical about this product, but the mouse poops and chewed boxes in my home got too much.
Within 30mins of switching the product on, it had flushed out a mouse from behind some kitchen units. I had set up a trap in this area as I knew the mouse only had one way out and wouldn't be able to avoid the trap. I heard some scratching on the kitchen tiles and thought it was our dog. It was actually the mouse trying to free itself from the trap and run back behind the kitchen units. Since it was such a battler and still very much alive and unharmed, I took it outside and let it go well away from my home.
We had a couple of days of further mice in traps as the product continued to flush, but we have seen none since. Also noticed a drop in spider poulation.
We would certainly recommend this product as long as you consider where you are putting it in relation to your pest problem. It will work if you work with it. Ensure that your pest's entry points are still available as exit points, so that they do not get distressed and cause damage in your home. Entry points can then be blocked off once the pests are gone.
Highly effective but very short life!
This unit got rid of a colony of very large rats in my attic here in South Africa within 24 hours. I was very impressed as these rats had been there for 3 months.
The downside is that the unit has a problem when it is switched off and on again or when unplugged and plugged in again. This seems to produce a voltage spike that damages electronic components inside and renders the unit unusable.
The unit claims that a 3A fuse is inside. On investigating there are certainly no fuses to be found there.
I called the manufacturers who tried to blame this on South African plug adapters. Howewer the same problem has also occurred in Europe to my knowledge.
I don't see why a unit such as this should fail; it's technically feasible to prevent that. If it's a sort of built-in obscelescne I think it's immoral.
But I'm very glad it got rid of these huge rats so fast. For that reason alone I would strongly disagree with the view of the "Useless!" review that also appears here.
Very good at its job
I've used electronic & ultrasonic devices for a few years and this is the best by far. It does what it says on the tin ! I've had no problems with it after powering up & down; it just works again like it should. Power it down and you can hear the ultrasonic slowly drop down to audible and then decay, so you know it's working. I use them in remote rural locations where mice come in off the fields in winter and the effect is clearly measurable: no mice this year ! I don't know what the other negative reviewers were doing but I don't share their experiencs at all.
