not so bright as shown on the picture
I was slightly disappointed that as a night light it was not very bright. Nothing like the picture on the box! However my 2 year old thinks its great, so it serves its purpose in that respect.

More night light than toy
My son loves this light on when he goes to bed. It's not very bright as a night light which I think is ideal for that purpose. Just gives him a reassuring glow to let him go off to sleep on his own.

popular torch
A word of warning - if your kids get up and wander in the night, this may not be the product for you. My 2 are good sleepers but they love these nightlights/torches and they are the first thing they grab when they wake up. The top comes off the base unit and becomes a torch which they shine on anything and everything including us! The nightlight is more than powerful enough and has been a great bonus for our daughter as now she is dry at night times we find that if she wants to go to the toilet in the night she no longer wakes us, but picks up her torch, goes and comes back popping the torch back into the base for her nightlight. You do need to remember to plug it in to recharge it every couple of days (that is if you use it as a nightlight each night like we do), but that is no hardship and the kids won't let you forget! We have bought a couple of these for our kids friends -but only those who are good sleepers, as you really don't want to encourage bad sleepers to wander around pointing torches at visiting relatives!The buttons are easy to use (my 2 year old has no problem turning it on and off) and they are easy enough for the kids to pop in and out of their base unit. If you leave them switched on in thier base unit, they convert to a torch as soon as you pick them up and back to a nightlight when they are put in the base unit again. simple! Great fun.
