CD Description
Following in the footsteps of teen-actress-turned-singing-star Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan delivers SPEAK, an accomplished album of radio-ready pop. Balancing dance-floor grooves of the Britney Spears/Christina Aguilera variety with rock moves borrowed from the Avril Lavigne/Michelle Branch axis, Lohan sings with authority over razor-sharp club beats (the title track, "To Know Your Name") and amps-on-11 guitar riffs ("First") in equal measure. Along the way, she also tackles piano-driven power ballads ("Symptoms of You"), John Mayer-style jazzy, acoustic pop ("Something I Never Had"), and GwenStefani-esque electronica-informed rock ("Anything But Me"). Though Lohan had little to do with writing most of these songs, the lyrics are well suited to her unique situation of living in the public eye from a young age, and they often address the difficulties of maintaining close personal relationships. A surprisingly diverse and accomplished debut, SPEAKproves that Lohan has the mettle and talent necessary to compete with other young pop superstars.

Please Don't Tell Me It's OVER!
This album never made the top 40, which is extremely disappointing as it's one of my favourite albums of the year.
Every song is strong and catchy, you won't be skipping any.
1. First - great 'first' song, rocky and far too catchy! - 10/10
2. Nobody 'Til You - very catchy and great lyrics - 10/10
3. Sypmtoms Of You - this song is a grower, not as upbeat but catchy - 9/10
4. Speak - i love this song, the chorus is so catchy and very girlie - 10/10 *
5. Over - her 2nd single, amazing balad, just sing this at the top of your voice and you can enjoy it! Sadly this only made it to #27, things don't look too good, on the charts for Lindsay... is it 'over'? - 10/10 *
6. Something I Never Had - great guitar and nice vocals - 8/10
7. Anything But Me - rocky and catchy, another powerful song - 9/10
8. Disconnected - didn't like this song at first but it grows and i love it! - 10/10
9. To Know Your Name - slower but great, instantly likeable - 10/10
10. Very Last Moment In Time - slow but powerful - 9/10
11. Magnet - another great song - 10/10
12. Rumours - 1st single, instantly catchy and i love Lindsay vocals on this one, this song never was propely released in the Uk as a single and still didn't make the top 40 - 10/10 *
* = best tracks
Great album, you have to buy if you like Hilary Duff - Hilary Duff, Hilary Duff - Metamorphosis or Ashlee Simpson - Autobiography. Out of all those albums, this one is the best by far! I am a Lohan Fan.
Very well spoken!
What do you expect when you buy a CD by Lindsay Lohan? A girly, Britney-Spears-type-of album? A 'best of' collection from her films? Well, no. You are getting an album with many influences- think Gwen Stefani's "Love. Angel. Music. Baby.", without the four Japanese girls!
There's something for everyone here, but what makes this album unique is that you can actually see (or hear, whatever) what the girl is talking about. Remember Madonna's "American Life" album, how all the songs sounded like you we're listening to completely different authors? Well, "Speak" isn't at all like that, mainly because of the charisma and charm of it's singer. It doesn't sound like something you've already heard, because (surprisnly!), Lindsay Lohan's album "Speak" has many additions of soft rock- something like "The Calling". Lindsay has a good voice, and most of the songs are also very good. I think that they mainly comunicate with teenagers, but some of Lindsay's older fans will enjoy this album too... I know my mum does!
best thing since britney
this album has been in my cd player for over a month now and not moved once, its so easy to listen to. after listening to it a few times i started to think i had heard the songs before but thats just because each track instantly becomes your favourite song. her style is quite britney but with a bit of soft rock. only problem with it is she moans a bit about being a celeb but the brilliance of it makes that not matter.
