Amazon.co.uk Review
Clocking in at just under two hours long, Dangerous: The Short Films contains all the videos from Michael Jackson's album of the same name. Whatever your opinion of the man himself, you cannot deny his abilities as one of the world's finest showmen and his videos are never anything less than spectacular. There was a time when the screening of a new Michael Jackson video was a huge global event, drawing in massive global audiences. This had a downside when "Black Or White" was first screened, as the final segment in which Michael morphs backwards and forwards from a panther form and destroys a car, bar and most of a street caused huge controversy due to its perceived endorsement of vandalism. To the compilers' credit, the entire video is included here but with a full explanation of the ending and a warning not to copy it. For the converted this will be a worthy addition to the collection. For the more cynical, this is a fascinating if somewhat uneasy look at one of pop's most enigmatic and bizarre characters.

On the DVD: With a wealth of rare behind-the-scenes footage and a selection of rarely seen live performances, such as a lavish rendition of "Heal The World" from the Super Bowl, the DVD certainly packs on the extras. There is also extensive footage from shoots of the video, as well as those of "Remember The Time" and "In The Closet" complete with fascinating insights from co-stars Eddie Murphy and Naomi Campbell. Other extras include Grammy Awards and NAACP Awards highlights which depending on your opinion of the man in question can be seen as either fitting tributes to the King of Pop or nauseatingly over-sentimental sycophantic claptrap. --Helen Marquis

Customer Reviews

A must see DVD, you dont have to be a MJ fan to enjoy this.5
I was a bit reluctant at first as to buy this DVD.
When I finally did, I was not disappointed, it was so entertaining. On "Dangerous" there are lots of tour footage, extended versions of all songs and never before viewed behind the scene footage. It even has the unreleased Pepsi advert also featuring Michael Jackson. If you're the quality music DVD buying type, I hate to disapoint British press (not) but it has to be MJ's Dangerous.

Stunning...5
This is quite possible one of MJ's best. With a profesional menu layout this one (unlike HIStory on film Vol II) you will not leave you to be disapointed. The fastinating story behind the 'Black or White' video shows MJ in a slightly different light to the one we are use to. The first segment of the 'Black or White' video is very creative. Filled with all sorts of multi racial dances and land marks. Then towards the end Michael morphs back and forward into a Panther and starts this incredible dance sequence, however soon this turns into a slightly crazed act of vandalism as he destroys cars, breaks the windows of shops and blows up a hotel! This is not for the light hearted but is an incredible specticle none the less. The rest of the DVD is filled with other short films and behind the scenes footage. As well as this it packes a few live performances including the 1993 Superbowl which is truley amazing! Plus the live version of 'Will you be There' which was filmed for the MTV 10th anniversary. Whether you are an MJ fan or not, I gaurente this DVD will make your mouth drop with astonishment!

The best videos of the king of pop!5
I saw the dvd today and was amazed!
The dvd contains the original uncut version of BLACK AND WHITE which was banned from tv.Also the making ofs of several clips and the heartbreaking video of GONE TO SOON about the american boy who died of aids.
You can also see footage from michaels television commercials never before seen!
The picture and sound quality is great and all lyrics are presented too!
Great stuff for your money!
