Fantastic5
Though apparently dated, has so much information that it is timeless. Practical, educational, fascinating.
Just because it is old doesn't make it out of date! From what they are, salsify to asparagus peas, to apples & pears! What they are, from when, to how to pick and then recipes to cook.
Of all the cooking/ gardening books this classic wipes the floor with them.

I inherited this book years ago and it was already well used. It is now literally falling apart after years of use and abuse in my garden and kitchen - so I have treated myself to a new one - it is just the best all round foodie book - from sowing to husbandry to harvest and cooking. It even includes great information on keeping hens and chickens and all sorts of gems like jams, jellies and chutneys! Great investment, timeless advice and super recipes!

For anyone wishing to exploit what nature has to offer in a common or garden... well... garden, 'Food From Your Garden' is the beginning, middle and end of of home husbandry advice. Whether it's growing your own or making your own, this book has it all. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Literary Nirvana.
