HD Ready
High-definition television, or HDTV, is a new standard of TV with better-quality picture and sound than normal TV, the sort of standard you would see at a cinema. HDTV brings you closer to the action, offering more colours and a higher resolution picture (twice as many horizontal lines). This can make HDTV images clearer, sharper, more detailed and very lifelike.

Freeview/Digital
With LG, you’ll be ready for the digital switchover. By 2012, all areas of the UK will receive TV in digital as opposed to analogue. Freeview is a subscription free service which brings up to 48 digital TV channels including ITV2, E4, BBC3, and Film4 plus 24 digital radio stations, no contract and no satellite dish.

AV Mode
With AV mode, you can customise picture settings to suit what you watch. LG TVs have three special modes (Cinema, Sport and Game modes) for enhanced picture and audio quality. These are easily accessible using the AV MODE hot key on the remote control. Cinema Mode - Watch movies with vivid colour, smoother motion and cinematic sound effect. Sport Mode – Takes you closer to the action by emphasising the main colours and reducing motion blur. Game Mode – Optimises the TV for computer and / or games console for a more dynamic gaming experience.

USB
The USB 2.0 feature allows you to connect a USB mass storage device to your LG product in order to play audio (MP3) files, display JPEG pictures and DivX Movies, enabling you to quickly transfer photographs and music to your TV.

Invisible Speaker
The front bezel works as a speaker, replacing the normal speaker grill. With the Invisible Speaker System, the speakers are embedded in strategic spots underneath and around the front bezel. This speaker system provides a clean and fashionable design compared with traditional side or bottom speaker designs.

    Excellent value for money5
    Did a lot of research before buying and determined that this was the best value for money purchase for those like myself still mainly watching standard definition TV. Set looks superb with the glass front however it was picture and price that determined it for me.

    TV is a doddle to set up and use and there were no image retention issues that some people talk of. Set has got noticeably better as it logs more hours and the divx playback from usb stick is a nice little bonus.

    As far as HD goes I have not tried it but saw a demo in a shop which was fantastic so should be well future proofed. I think some of the spec is a gimmmick in terms of brightness, contrast and refresh however in summary it has a cracking picture with good (could be better) sound.

    Superb TV, Excellent Price5
    I done a good bit of research before I chose this TV, and I am glad I did, as this TV is just brilliant.

    Setting the TV up was a piece of cake, it was near enough just plug and play. All I had to do was a little tweaking with the settings to get the picture just the way I wanted. My Xbox 360 graphics look Superb on this TV, so the HD on the TV is excellent.

    Found a dead pixel the other day, but only because I was really close to my TV at the time, when watching the TV you never even notice it, so it doesn't even bother me.

    So this TV is a excellent purchase and real value for money.

    One of the BEST items I've ever bought!5
    We spent a lot of time researching TVs to decide which TV was the best for our budget! We had decided on a different 42 inch Plasma TV by LG (the 42PQ2000) which was a slightly older model but was just within our budget. We liked the PQ6000 but it was just too expensive at the time in the shop we were originally in.

    When we arrived home from purchasing the older model TV we decided to check that we were 100% happy with our purchase and that is when we found this TV for the same price on amazon.. over £100 cheaper than the shop we had bought the other TV in. We talked about this TV for a while before eventually deciding to buy it and would return the other TV when it had been delivered. We are so pleased that we decided to go for the 42PQ6000 instead because it is far more superior.

    When the TV arrived it was just perfect. It had been packaged well and was so very easy to set up. All we had to do was plug the TV in and turn it on and it pretty much set itself up from there. The picture is incredible and the sound is just amazing compared with the old CRT TV we had previously! For me, the most impressive feature of this TV is the USB divX capability it has. I have quite a lot of movies on my computer and if you save them to a USB or external hardrive you can plug it into the TV and watch them on demand. I was really impressed with the picture quality of DVDs also and just the standard def picture quality. As we have not yet got cable set up in our flat due to recently moving house I cannot say what the high def looks like but I'm sure it will be amazing.

    I wanted to emphasize just how pleased we were with this item. It now has pride of place in our living room and am almost finding it hard to get much done around the house. A really good buy. I would definately advise anyone who is going to buy a TV to make sure they do lots of research beforehand to make sure it is what you want and is suitable for what you are going to use it for. I'm really glad we did!!
