Rough but ready...or should I say "pret"?
I have a couple of different editions of this book. It's informative and entertaining and is generally good preparation for visiting the area. However, having lived a few months in the South of France, I'm glad this new issue has revised it's rather unfair description of certain towns. The only unsavoury parts of the Cote D'azur or inner Provence that I found were certain quarters in the big cities - surely something that exists in every major settlement. But overall a great book and I will buy a newer copy no doubt in the future.
