Synopsis
Set in the small town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut, GILMORE GIRLS is a charming television drama that tells the story of a thirty-something single mother, Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham), and her precocious teenage daughter, Rory (Alexis Bledel), as they navigate their way through the shifting tides of day-to-day life. Lorelai and Rory's relationship is one built out of friendship as much as it is based on maternal love, which allows for more drama and depth than most family shows. This release is a perfect way for fans to remember why they fell in love with the show in the first place, and allows latecomers to discover Lorelai and Rory for the very first time.

Surpisingly Addictive!
I accidently got hooked on The Gilmore Girls when my aunt came over for a holiday, went shopping and came back with Seasons 1-3. I watched 2 episodes with her and that was that. Lorelai 32 (Lauren Graham)and Rory 16 (Alexis Bledel) have the perfect mother-daughter relationship. Lorelai who brought Rory up as a single parent has a fantastic daughter. Lorelai is witty, funny and stubborn, all traits inherited by Rory. Rory is an excellent student and dreams of going to Harvard and being a journalist at the CNN. The whole town, Stars Hollow, is filled with admiringly unique characters, from Luke and his much-loved diner to Michel, the annoyingly funny french man who works with Lorelai at the Independence Inn. The Gilmore Girls will make you laugh, it may even make you cry. It's packed with must-see material!!! You'll regret not watching it sooner!
Gilmore Girls, oh how I love thee!!!
I recently started watching the Gilmore Girls on E4 at 11:30/12:30 and became enthralled by its quirks and charms! I'd always wondered why it had been so popular in America, but now I can see why. The town of Stars Hollow is the epitomy of a perfect cutesy american town. The kind you might dream of living it. It's cosy TV, like How I met your Mother, Friends and so on. The characters have such nice, but normal, lives. One of the many reasons that its so popular, its a slice of life, but it has sparkle. It has oodles of charm. It oozes charm so much so that my Father can't stand it. My Mother and I have made it a daily ritual to watch it in the mornings over the past 3 weeks. We didnt see the very beginning of series one, but didnt miss too much, we're into series 2 now and have just ordered 1 and 2 on DVD, will probably get series 3 later also. But it's such a shame only the first 3 seasons have gotten released over here, but hopefully Gilmore Girls showing on E4 will have developed more fans, who will, like me, demand that more be ported to Region 2!!
I dont like giving away plot in reviews, so I'll just say this. If you like cosy tv, tv to make you smile. Tv that has character, you must watch this. It has the quirks of tv like Greys Anatomy, the weirdness of many different series and so much more to offer you. And since it's so cheap, you would be a fool to miss out on this delightful series.
(For those who want to try it out, not only is it shown at 11:30 and 12:30 on E4 and E4+1, it's shown at an earlier time of 8:50 and 9:50 too. So you have no reason to miss it. Record it if not, or, just save time and buy the boxsets now  Then you could have a marathon!!(Which is just what I plan to do!!)
The sweetest, nicest and funniest thing you'll watch all year
I discovered Gilmore Girls on the Hallmark channel whilst off ill (you know, lying on the sofa, feeling sorry for yourself) and I have to confess to dragging the illness on a couple of days so I could make the 8.30am slot to watch the girls!
Now, don't ask me to tell you the plot...it's the only programme that I know that I sing the praises of, but then when someone asks me to tell them what happened in an episode, I have to reply...'well, nothing really..but it was so funny'. I'm not destined for a career in sales then. However, Laurelai, Rory, Luke, Suki, Emily, Richard and co keep me entertained through their sharp wit and humour, and the fraught relationship between Laurelai and her mum in contrast to the amazing relationship that Laurelai enjoys with her own daughter is touchingly, yet often hilariously portrayed. I cannot praise this show enough. And the theme tune will find its way into your head and never leave...
Enjoy folks.
