DVD Description
In Sugar Rush Series 2, star of the show Kim is no longer a fifteen year-old homophobic gay virgin--she's now a horny seventeen year-old who's ready to unleash her libido on Brighton's lesbian scene… that is, when she's not revising for her A Levels, saving Sugar from her probation officer, persuading Matt that playing Marilyn Manson backwards won't make him privy to satanic messages, or discovering the hideous truth behind her parents's apparently saved marriage. The second series also sees the introduction of sex-shop manager Saint, who, along with Sugar, attracts the attention of Kim. In addition to the distractions provided by these two, Kim also has to deal with her dysfunctional family--an obsessive father, an exceedingly unusual brother, and a ridiculously childish mother. With each new episode of the show--which is set in Brighton and based on the book by Julie Burchill--Kim's wry observations and experiences of forbidden love take you on a completely different journey.
Synopsis
Sugar Rush 2 delves into the life of teenage lesbian Kim and her intense lust for the beautiful Maria Sweet--otherwise known as Sugar--and sees the introduction of sex-shop manager Saint, who also attracts the attention of Kim. In addition to the distractions provided by Sugar and Saint, Kim has to deal with her dysfunctional family. She has an obsessively house-proud father, an extremely unusual brother and a mother who acts like an adolescent. Sugar Rush details Kim's teenage years growing up in Brighton, and focuses on her loves and all the excitement and complications which result from it. Each episode sheds further light on Kim's world and her emotions with the use of her wry observations on life and love.

A whole lot better!
This series is a whole lot better than the previous series. After watching the first series i didnt know wheather to bother watching the second series as i thought it would all be the same. I WAS WRONG! its very different.. theres alot more atmosphere, more faces and not so gloomey as the first series. Yet again Kims dad comes back with even more great acting, Everybody looks more healthy and outgoing.. its great and i am glad that i have watched it. best out of both series.
one thing though is why is it rated 18+ it doesntseem to be that XXX i would personally give it a 15. DO buy this is not to miss.
excellent, funny, must see
sugar rush two is brilliant - really there are no other words for it. granted it is not as great as the first series, but then few sequels are. the acting is still top quality and the characters are believable. and as for those people who are disappointed that she isn't still pining over sugar - get a life! kim did. it would have been a boring series indeed if kim was still mooning over sugar like she was in the first series. kims growth as a character is believeable, she got "over" sugar but still cares deeply for her which is evident in the fact that she repeatedly considers sugars feelings over saints, therefore adding tension to her new relationship, which is all dealt with with equal amounts of humor and heartache. if you've seen the first one and you believe that people must change and grow, then you will love the second one. kim exerts herself and puts her needs first for a change, and it's brillant to see!
Sugar Rush is excellent
Although this sounds crazy Channel Four have decided to Cancel Series three and four even although Sugar Rush (A Shine Production for Channel 4, United Kingdom) was awarded the 34th International Emmy Award classified under "Children & Young People".
and even although Sugar Rush has been nominated for a BAFTA Television Award, in the Drama Series category for 2007 .
I just cant fathom the logic as both Sugar Rush 1 and 2 are excellent and really the acting standard could not be Higher.
full credit is due to
Kim Daniels (Olivia Hallinan)
Maria "Sugar" Sweet (Lenora Crichlow)
Stella Daniels (Sara Stewart)
Nathan Daniels (Richard Lumsden)
Matt Daniels (Kurtis O'Brien)
Saint (Sarah-Jane Potts)
and the Production Company { Shine Production }
They really made a excellent series and they must be deeply upset that Channel Four has pulled the plug as this could have ran for years.
