The series is based on the book by Julie Burchill and set in Brighton. Synopsis

"Sugar Rush Series 1" delves into the passion-filled world of horny teenager Kim, who feels an intense lust for her best friend, the beautiful Maria Sweet (otherwise known as Sugar). "Sugar Rush Series 2" sees the introduction of sex-shop manager Saint, who also attracts the attention of Kim. In addition to the distractions provided by Sugar and Saint, however, Kim has to deal with her embarrassing family--an obsessive father, an exceedingly unusual brother, and a ridiculously childish mother.

I love this show
If you were like me and saw the adverts, thought it looked interesting but never actually got round to watching this buy these dvds now. I borrowed them off a friend and had to buy my own copy. It is so different to other run of the mill teen television programmes. The humour is excellent and all the characters are brilliant. The first series is focusing on Sugar and Kim's relationship which is fascinating however the second series manages to develop the relationship by adding another character, Saint. Both series are brilliant and I love how the second series focuses more on Kim and her journey onto the gay scene. Olivia Hallinan is a brilliant actress. Kim's family are also excellent, every child has been embarassed by their parents and it's very funny to watch the situations they get themselves in to.
Buy this if your looking for something different that will make you laugh, I can't wait for the next series!

Brilliant
If you missed this when it was on TV buy it now and you will not be disappointed. Excellent story line about a young lesbian girl called kim and her massive crush on sugar her best friend. Watch as kim goes from one disaster to another. Supurb laugh out loud moments when watching Kim, Her parents and her brothers get up to allsorts.

very entertaining
we really enjoy british tv series for their complete openess. this was no exception, funny, sad, romantic and at times profound in it's exploration of dysfunctional family life.
