Good for a 12 month old!
I have to say i disagree with the review below. My little boy is 13 months and he has no problem pushing them down and you really don't have to push that often either as loads of paint comes out with each push. I didn't really think it was that runny either.... I would agree that you don't get many colours and that really a pack of 6 would be better, but for a very young toddler i think they are great, easy to hold, brush not to big so paint doesn't splatter anywhere and if you keep the plastic holder thing you can just put them back in that to store. Although my little one has some pots of poster paint as well he tends to just tip them upside down and pour the poster paint everywhere before crawling it round the house!. Until he understands not to do that we will be using these!!. If that makes me a "lazy" parent so be it!
Not that easy for little ones....
My little girl is almost two and she finds the concept of using these quite hard. You have to shake and push down to get the paint to come out of the top and so after a couple of strokes she gives up and moves on with something else. Also, you only get three colours (hardly enough to keep young minds interested) and keeping the bristles clean/dry ready for next use is a bit of a pain. The paints are also very watery which I don't like - it runs down the paper and does spill/drip if you push to hard for paint to come out. Overall, I like the concept of little ones being able to grip the paintbrush better, but I wouldn't purchase again. Needless to say these are now in the bin, I think I'll stick to real paints or crayons. However, if you don't want to roll your sleeves up, these could be a good thing for the 'lazy' parent.
