Dip in for sound advice
I am currently teaching a mentoring course and I have found this book invaluable. Its easy to read format has given me many ideas, and has helped me to improve my performance at the same time. It is broken down into easy to read sections, and like all the dummies books is clearly laid out. It contains a wealth of information, but does not have to be read from start to finish, allowing you to start to learn more about coaching and mentoring at your point of need. I find myself dipping in and out of it, and I never fail to find another useful nugget to help me along the way. I am a fan of the dummies series and this one more than met my expectations
A must for any front-line manager!
This book is great! A must for any manager wanting to tap into the resource that is the inner potential of the staff reporting into them. This shows you how to deal with the anxiety of performance reviews and shows how to coach with questions rather than answers - 2 of the "unteached" management traits that an employer is always looking for, but rarely recruits the right people to do! If you are a new manager, with an open mind, or a old-pro looking for renewed energy to deliver on key performance indicators, buy this now!
