All the answers you ever needed?4
This is one of those books that should rightly adorn the desk of every training and development professional. Concentrating on the systematic approach it covers all phases of the training/learning cycle and includes suitable practical examples and guidance wherever necessary. It is also an easy read with diagrams to help explain concepts and tables to add meaning. It is an invaluable reference manual and could easily from the basis for a comprehensive train the trainer course!

It is worth pointing out that this is not just a book aimed at 'trainers', but training managers, line managers, training sponsors and anyone in the field of training and development would gain from reading this book. Not only does it cover the systematic approach, but also it goes on to look at the 'professional' roles of trainers and how such roles may be evolving.

It's weakness is that it a little limited in the scope of examples given, its' adherence to the systematic approach, (no bad thing) and it could perhaps include more of the underpinning theory. This however is more than overcome by the use of excellent referencing allowing the reader to do their own further research.

Overall thoroughly recommended!
