Synopsis
Spiralling out of the events in "Beast Wars: The Gathering", Magmatron - now a disembodied entity, existing out of time and space - is witness to Cybertron's unchecked descent into chaos and madness, all of which is a prelude to its complete and utter destruction! Powerless to directly affect this terrifying apocalypse, Magmatron's last desperate recourse is to try and bring his greatest enemy, Razorbeast, together with fellow Maximals Lio Convoy and The Pack!

The Gathering
This is the second title to come from IDW of their take on Transformers.
Beast Wars the Gathering is a great story in my view. Instead of making use of the Mainframe choice of Characters, they chosen to go with the Japan Beast Wars characters and set it around some of the events of season 3 of the Mainframe Beast Wars.
(Spoilers below)
Magmatron travels back to the past with several other Predacons with his own plans, but he has a spy in his ranks by the name of Razorbeast, Magmatron plans to make use of the dormant transformers who were on board the Maximal ship before they were launched into orbit at the start of the TV show.
Razorbeast gathers a small group of allies and escapes from Magmatron, his mission is to stop Magmatron from interfering with history and returning to Cybertron with army to overthrow the Maximals & Predacon leaders. Can Razorbeast stop Magmatron's evil plan or will he succeed in his plan?
A welcome return!
Well what can I say this doesn't disappoint. I found the first issue of this in London and since then have been dying to read the rest of the story, and I'm glad I did. All the characters shown and brilliantly drawn and very true to the toys. The storyline is fantastic and although it takes place during the time of the original 'Beast Wars' it doesn't cross over and change anything that we know and love, yet... There are hints all the way though this is just the start and I hope it is. A brilliant read for all fans of the Transformers!
