Customer Reviews
High Quality, Low Price.
This kit represents superb value for money. The car connector is particularly useful when travelling with high drain devices like digital cameras and MP3 players.
Charge time is between one and a half and four hours, depending on battery capacity.
This is a good compromise between ultra fast chargers and trickle versions.
The faster you charge a battery the shorter its service life. Avoid one hour chargers.
All in all a great buy, for little more than the cost of the batteries alone.
Great bit of kit for the money
This is a very well built piece of bit with all the right bits and bobs - having the charger separate to the plug in adapter is great - as most chargers of this type plug directly into the socket, which I personally find a pain. The car adapter is a genius idea too - a majority of my camping gear (torches/radios/mp3 player etc) run on re-chargeables... be great to be able to recharge them on site. The automatic cut off (delta V type) is something normally found on more expensive chargers and is much better for your batteries life than timer type chargers - also means you don't have to wait till the batteries are flat before re-charging!
The travel case is also pretty cool - gives the charger some good protection when packed in a suitcase for example - and stops the wires getting tangled up.
All in all a great unit - with VERY high capacity batteries (you'll be paying at least half the cost of the unit if you bought the batteries alone). Seems to be built very well, but only time will tell regards reliability / durability etc.
worst charger I've ever had
1. Charger doesn't charge fully. The capacity of the batteries is bigger than the power they're getting from the charger. The green light comes on much to fast.
2. When I've inserted 2 pairs of batteries - one of them was half-charged, and the other was completely discharged (I know how to use the switch from 2 to 4 batteries)
3. When I've tried to charge the batteries included, the very first time - it took the charger only 15 minutes, and the batteries were totaly out of power when I've taken them out.
4. The (theoreticly) fully charged batteries, when inserted into a proper charger, charged for another 4 hours, until the light came off.
Then they were fully charged.
Reasonable batteries - TOTALY USELESS CHARGER.
There is no point of sending the set back. The costs of p&p are to high when compared to the value of the set. I'm gonna keep the batteries, and throw away the charger.
