Candidate handbook CCLD 5
Excellnt book - easy reading , key points are highlighted
Good to support the underpinning knowledge for this course

Misleading and incomplete1
In my opinion, anyone doing NVQ 2 in Children's Care Learning and Development should seek an alterative text book to this one. I bought this book on recommendation to aid with my coursework. The first section I worked on was Unit 202. The book was only useful for one question out of the whole unit. The index references to pages that are not in the book, it sends you to wrong pages and also tells you that information is in the book and isn't. There are numerous typing issues, a lot of the contained information is irrelevant to the questions and the sections that could be potentially useful do not give any answers or even hints of where to begin to look for the information, they just answer in question form like `Imagine if........' Although the printers listened to my issues and looked into the errors I had pointed out, I have been informed that the errors will not be rectified until the next print which will not be of any use to those of us that are on this course now. This book does not contain the adult to child ratios as stated in the index, so if you are hoping to get this information, the printers have said it is in the previous (second edition) version of this book.

It really helps!5
I am a mature student, just starting my NVQ 2 in childcare, this book was recommended by a friend, and it has helped me with eveything so far.
