Manufacturer's Description
The brand new range of Sovos LCD TVs all share a stunning sleek, black piano finish and fantastic screen quality. The whole range has been designed to bring you the very latest technology that is easy to use and enjoy.

Each Sovos LCD TVs is HD Ready, which means that you can plug in a High Definition source (such as a Blu Ray player, PS3 or HD TV via cable or satellite) and enjoy crisp, life like pictures. The SVTV19D and 22D models also include an integrated DVD player, which as well as playing CDs is also capable of transforming standard DVD to High Definition quality video up to 1080p. DVD's simply slot into the side of the TV, which means that you can get the best from your DVD collection, without the need for a separate bulky DVD player and all those wires..

All Sovos LCD TV's come with inbuilt digital TV (DVB-T Freeview). The digital Freeview tuner allows you to watch over 40 TV channels for free, you don't need a satellite dish, simply plug in your aerial to receive the Freeview digital channels* such as BBC Three, E4 and CBBC. On top of all the TV channels you can also receive over 20 different digital radio stations such as BBC Radio 1, BBC World Service and BBC Five Live. The Sovos Digital TV is enhanced by the full interactive digital service capability for subtitles, text and "Press Red" services such as news, sports results weather etc. The Sovos SVTV22D also features an analogue TV tuner, which is perfect for gaining extra channels in areas with weaker digital coverage and is compatible with transmissions in Europe.

On the back of the TV there are many input and output sockets for any situation. Amongst others connections include:HDMI, SCART, S-VIDEO, RGB, PHONO and a PC input. This host of connections gives you the freedom to plug in camcorders, video players, satellite receivers, computers and virtually any home video device.

One exciting new feature that has been added to the entire Sovos range of TVs is a Common Interface (CI) slot. A CI slot helps to future proof your TV by giving you the ability to watch "Pay to View" channels, such as Setanta sports or classic TV series on UKTV Gold. You can simply insert your viewing card and card holder (subscription required) into the CI slot and enjoy even more channels.

A matching gloss black stand included with the all the range, which can easily be removed if you wish to mount the unit on a wall. On the back of each TV there are four VESA 75 fixing points which will allow you to use any compatible wall mounting bracket.

With every SOVOS TV there are 3 power options supplied. A standard UK mains power lead for use at home, a European mains power lead, for use abroad and also a 12Vdc cigarette lighter power lead so the TV can be used in a truck, caravan, motor home, or boat.

SOVOS, entertainment to fit your lifestyle.

Customer Reviews

Great Television- really pleased5
I am really pleased with this TV, just what I wanted.
I'd looked around at a number of others in Comet etc, but none were as good as the Sovos. This one was at a great price, and HD ready, and DVD player etc etc and fits perfectly in my bedroom!
I was impressed by Sovos, 2 year UK backed warranty was good- not many other companies seemed to offer this level of service.

Good Budget TV4
Having purchased a 19" Sony Bravia over 12 months ago to fit in our bedroom, which we enjoyed so much it never got to the bedroom but became our family TV, (until recently upgraded to a 32" Bravia), the 19" Sony has now gone to our daughters room.
So we find ourselves looking for a cheap alternative, as the budget was spent on the new 32", (still very resonable from Amazon, but that's another review) So after searching the web, Comet, Dixons, Currys etc.. the only thing that came in close was the Matsui, or the Tecknica(?) from Tescos, so we visited the stores to see what they really looked like, and went back home again, then we came across the Sovos, Freeview, HD Ready (whatever that intails) DVD built in, lots of inputs, even 12 volt DC and the right price.
Product built in Malaysia for a UK company based in the south of England, and there tech department in mid Wales, How do I know this? Well after fitting the TV to my wall, setting the unit to auto search, which it did without any problems and found all the usual freeview channels etc.. Only problem was the picture, seemed to be missing the blue part of the spectrum, On analogue TV picture was great, play a DVD, picture was great, on digital, not so great.
So call the number at the back of the instruction book, got through straight away, took my number and said they would get one of the tech guys to call back. Oh dear we all thought, but no, within the hour a very helpful tech guy rang us and we went through various diagnostic settings which you won't find in the instructions, but to no avail. "Not a problem, we'll send another out to you immediatly"
Next day a courier arrives with a replacement TV, which we fitted, tuned, and have been enjoying ever since. I called Sovos back to say we are happy, and then they arranged a courier to collect the broken TV, at a time and date to suit me, which was just over a week later, excellent service.
Having lived with the TV for a month now the main problem is the slowness of the channel change, and sometimes if you don't have the patience to wait, or you want to change more than once, the TV hangs, and locks up, where you have to switch it off and on again. This only happens on digital but the lovely people at Sovos are getting back to me with a cure.
The EPG (Electronic program guide)is a little messy, offers a whole weeks guide, but as you can't record on the TV, can't see the point really. (The Sony version is a lot clearer)
Audio is a little tinny, offers 4 options, Personel, this lets you adjust bass, treble, and balance, add as much bass as you like, but without external speakers, you'r again wasting your time, Preset EQ for Voice, Music and Theatre. Theatre is the least offensive
Other than that, a great TV

What a great buy5
I have had almost every make of Television over the years and the only one that gives a better picture than this is my state of the art Sony. Never have I had one so easy to set up, plug it in, press a button and away you go. Great value Television.
