Great player
I bought this Sony upscaler dvd player as i was unhappy with the upscaler in the playstation 3 i have,fine for blu ray movies but standard dvd upscale was average i thought. I pluped for this when i saw it was going for a good price and the one i bought was multiregioned for me too..another downside to the ps3 (no multiregion function)

Anyway i have a 40" toshiba HD TV and this upscales to 1080p very nicely indeed..i have read a few other reviews of this and similar players from customers saying ..wow this is like proper HD..etc etc..well it isnt..take it from someone who has a blu ray player as well..no Upscaled standard dvd looks anywhere near as good as a proper HD picture..the people who say these things in reviews are the people who have never had a blu ray player or seen any HD transmission..they just guess that it looks like that. That said this produces a nice upscaled picture..much better than my ps3 can offer.

All in all you cant go far wrong with this. Plus points are a decent upscaled pic,thin and lightweight and also black is way better than silver in my opinion. upsclaes to 576p/720p/1080i/1080p depending on the resoloution on your HD TV

Bad points..not many,no optical outpput (coaxial only) not multiregion out of the box or hack with the remote..an all for one remote is required to multiregion this,but it can be done..luckily mine was already done.
