Average customer review:Product Description
An innovative view of the development of psychopathology and sexual offending. In an exciting synthesis of neuroscience, developmental, and social psychology with forensic and criminal literature, it offers a fresh perspective as to the reasons that may precipitate some individuals into violent or sexual offences. The book is written for clinicians of all modalities, although its very readable style, make it accessible to anyone with an interest in this area.

Latest ideas on brain science and development
This author has a gift for clear and engaging commentary on latest developments in neuroscience and attachment theory. She uses the central idea of secure/insecure attachments to explain later behaviours, arguing that adverse circumstances affect a child psychologically and physically.
The case study,Gordon, weaves an illuminating and,at times, heartbreaking narrative of psychopathology.
Ms Hudson-Allez has been let down by her editor, in that the book has been poorly proofread.Despite this irritation I would thoroughly recommend this book.
A Must-Read for all Therapists
I have previously attended two of Dr Hudson-Allez's seminars and found them highly entertaining, interesting and informative, both dealing with aspects of Attachment Theory.
So I looked forward to this book and when it arrived read it straight through in two days on the beach, much as you might a thriller.
It's added a great deal to my understanding of Attachment Theory and this has influenced my relationship counselling practice and proved very helpful for some of my clients.
It's a must-have for relationship counsellors but all counsellors and therapists would benefit from this book.
