The interactive TV Quiz is a definite hit, where our resident champion may turn out to be more intelligent than he looks! You can also compete in a one-to-one match with a friend!
Customer Reviews
one step beyound
If you have come from the Euro Talk, Talk Now series and expect to carry on learning Turkish via this Learn Turkish(world series) then you will be disapointed. To put it bluntly this CD is a con and should be avoided. Even with a very good Turkish dictionary you will find it hard to make progress as there is no spoken or written english language help. What it really is is a childs game that you can learn by usage. By so doing do not expect to progress with your Turkish...
More advanced than you might think
This is a good learning resource. The only warning to be given is that it is more advanced than you might think. I have been learning Turkish for a few years and have attended a GCSE course for a year and my knowledge of turkish was really tested when just trying to understand the instructions, which are all written in Turkish.
What I was looking for, when buying this, was a good tool to learn to listen to the Turkish language. This is where it is espcially useful. Repeated listening to the words, phrases, questions and answers etc really made an impact on my understanding.
The CD is also fun to use, with its competitive edge you can become addicted and learning takes place without you always being aware of it.
World Talk Turkish
This review is written after using the CD for four weeks for 30-40 minutes a day.
There is too large a jump in level between "Talk Now - Turkish" and "World Talk - Turkish" for me. I have to use a dictionary to make sense of it.
The games are fun but I am making progress in them by beginning to recognise the correct answers as much as by understanding what is going on.
In spite of the criticisms it is much more useful than the book/tape combinations I have borrowed or bought.
