Enjoyable and instructive5
This is a useful CD for reinforcing a range of Key Stage 3 concepts in a way that is enjoyable and allows for skills development. The game is based around getting off 2 islands by passing a series of stages, each of which involves solving some basic mathematical problems from Key Stage 3. After I got it I could hardly get my 12 year old off the computer; he is quite mathematical and it turned into something of a challenge to see how quickly he could do it. More interestingly, my 11 year old, to whom a number of the concepts were relatively unfamiliar, also got into the swing of things quite quickly and has learned a good deal from it while having a lot of fun. I would rate this an excellent software buy for revising maths and making it both enjoyable and challenging at the same time.
