| BRAVIA W4000 Series LCD TV |
The HD Ready 1080p BRAVIA W4000 Series LCD TVs with Freeview come fully loaded with technology in a stunning new design. BRAVIA Engine 2 works to maximise the potential from any signal and, coupled with a Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 33,000:1, delivers an excellent viewing experience whatever you are watching. User-friendly technology such as USB Viewer, Picture Frame Mode and the unique Sony menu system, XrossMediaBar (XMB), as featured on the Playstation3, take TV functionality to another level. |
![]() | HD1080p HD 1080p offers you very high resolution to generate it’s picture. The ‘p’ stands for ‘progressive scan’, which scans all the lines at once to add stability & smoothness to fast-moving images. This makes 1080p TV’s excellent for sport broadcast & games. |
![]() | Integrated Digital Tuner / Freeview Having an integrated Digital Freeview Tuner means that your TV has a built in receiver that will give you access to many more channels without the need to have any additional hardware, such as a Freeview box. In 2007, the government began switching UK broadcasting to digital, so if your TV doesn’t have an integrated digital tuner feature you wont be able to view any channel without buying the additional hardware. |
![]() | BRAVIA Engine 2 You can’t have too much of a good thing, so we designed BRAVIA ENGINE 2. By using our most innovative technologies like intelligent noise reduction and Advanced Contrast Enhancer, BRAVIA ENGINE 2 builds on the power of the acclaimed BRAVIA ENGINE and adds four new image processing stages. What’s more, BRAVIA ENGINE 2 incorporates full digital signal processing, which means that it can enhance many different signals. |
![]() | Dynamic Contrast Contrast ratio is improved and all shades between the brightest white and the darkest blacks are maintained, so the picture has more depth and detail. |
![]() | BRAVIA Sync BRAVIA Sync enables the control of your TV and peripheral devices with a single BRAVIA remote through menus displayed on your BRAVIA LCD TV. |
![]() | XrossMediaBar (XMB) XMB™ (XrossMediaBar) is Sony’s original graphic user interface that allows for simple operation of various media and content, as seen on the PS3 and PSP. Users can navigate through the different types of media by zapping across icons that are aligned horizontally. After selecting the medium, a list of its content appears as thumbnails vertically. |
![]() | USB Photo Viewer Enjoy digital photos on the big screen. With the USB Photo Viewer, the user can view photos instantaneously by connecting a digital still camera via USB and selecting "Photo" from the XMB menu. Thumbnails of the photos stored in the digital still camera will appear on the screen, from which the user can choose to view full screen or as a slideshow. |
![]() | Picture Frame Mode Picture Frame Mode offers you the opportunity to decorate your room with BRAVIA like a painting or photo in a frame with BRAVIA’s superior color reproduction. By selecting the image to be displayed and the duration time on your menu screen your TV will show either a still image or slide show in it’s full glory at reduced power consumption, rather than simply having a black screen sitting in the corner or on the wall in your room. |
![]() | Live Colour Creation Live Colour Creation is a backlight system which produces a wider colour gamut, seen particularly with the red and green areas of the spectrum. |
![]() | X.V. Colour X.V colour offers a colour palette of 100% of the colour spectrum giving more depth, detail and natural images and is closer to the colour spectrum seen by the human eye. |
![]() | HDMI Sockets The W4000 Series has 3 X HDMI Sockets – 2 at the rear of the set & one at the side. |
![]() | Photo TV HD Photo TV HD picture processing technology designed to faithfully reproduce the natural beauty of your still images when viewed on your HD Ready 1080p BRAVIA LCD TV. Whereas all other TVs have technology designed to optimise video images, the BRAVIA W4000 has BRAVIA Engine 2 for viewing videos and Photo TV HD for viewing still images. |
![]() | 24P True Cinema '24p True Cinema' mode, is a perfect match for movies. Film is shot at 24 frames per second, but UK televisions operate at 25 frames per second. This means that when you watch a movie on DVD, you are seeing it sped up by 4 per cent. '24p True Cinema' enables the panel to display films at their intended 24fps (frames per second). |

At This Price You Would Be Mad Not To!
Having seen this TV for sale at Sony, John Lewis and local Home Cinema shops for as much as £899, when I saw it at this price I had to snap it up (£680 odd pounds at the time of writing). I ordered at about 1pm on a friday and (with express delivery), it arrived at 8am on the following day (yep that's right - a Saturday!).
This set has won a "What Hi-Fi" award (five stars) and was awarded a "What Video and High Definition TV" Best Buy.
It has the most astounding 1080p 24 fr/per second playback I have ever seen.
If you want a fairly small yet beautifully formed HD TV then this is the set for you. We are now enjoying; Sony quality, deep blacks and vivid whites in blu ray playback, excellent connectivity from PS3 due to "Bravia Sync", games that look astounding in 720 and 1080p (thanks to the updated Bravia 2 engine) and a freeview tunner that found 13 channels in a renowned freeview black spot, through a standard ariel.
There are enough features and screen settings to play with to ensure that film fans can manipulate the picture to match their personal viewing preferences and the sound is convincingly meaty for such a small set.
I am delighted with this set so far.
simply brilliant
This is a brilliant TV. Stunning picture from both SD and HD sources. Sound is very good too - much better than you would expect from a flat screen.
Bought this TV after doing lots of research and looking in different stores - nothing comes close from Panasonic or Samsung - and this TV is 5* from What HiFi Sound and Vision magazine.
32" is a great size for our 16 by 16 lounge.
Great remote control and some nice touches like swivel screen and picture frame mode.
Buy you won't be disappointed.
Price from Amazon much better than anywhere else and delivery was excellent. Ordered at 1 pm on Friday, delivered next day at 11 am.
FANTASTIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was reading the reviews on here that prompted me to buy this tv, it has to be said that i am often guilty of expecting too much out of a product before I get it and then to be dissappointed once it arrives....... NOT THIS TIME !!!!!!! Having seen only a few hd tv's before I was preparing myself for a fall, none of them seemed to excel in SD, even on a sky+ box, infact, I'd pre-warned my family to expect a slight decrease in quality vs our old crt sony set, wow, couldn't have been more wrong, infact, its hard to see how the picture could be any better !!! thats before I play a blu ray disc, the only setting I changed was the sound, which, in itself, is brilliant !! the tv is very easy to set up and the remote is easy to use.
I think people should know that its the quality of the signal that goes in to the tv that makes for a great visual experience, reviews left here marking down this set due to poor freeview etc. were blaming the wrong thing !!
what hifi said this is the best 32" on the market and I cant argue with them !!
just buy it !! from amazon as they are the cheapest on the web !!
