Excellent for parents of twins
As a parent of twins I found this book excellent. From the moment of conception virtually, parents of twins find their experience of having children is wildly different to that of singleton parents. Often find themselves isolated and unable to talk about their worries and problems, which are usually legion compared to singleton parents. Doctors and health visitors may not fully understand the twin situation. Twin parents have to make many compromises that singleton parents don't have to. This book is written in a thoughtful style and is full of reasearch, case studies and interviews with twin parents. It is reasonably detailed on pregancy. As the twins grow older, it covers the concerns that many parents have (e.g. language development) and how to promote their individuality. Twins' parents may wonder why everything is so much harder that their singleton baby friends, why their children aren't behaving like they "should" according to the baby books, why they can't seem to do even simple activities, like going to the park or shopping, that parents of single babies can manage with ease. Read this book and be reassured: other twins' parents had the same thing!
