Customer Reviews

Comfy, stylish but perhaps not the most practical boots4
I bought these boots a few weeks ago from the official Ugg Australia website and overall, I am very pleased with them. I did buy one of the cheap, lookalike versions (in the Oatmeal colour) from eBay a few months ago and whilst they make very nice slippers, they were definitely not made for wearing outdoors. I had a feeling from the start that I would need to buy the genuine Ugg boots in order to get a decent quality pair, so I took the plunge when I saw that Ugg finally had my size in grey!

When the boots arrived, I could instantly tell the difference between the genuine Uggs and the copycat versions. The most noticeable difference is the suede heel guard - in the copycats, this is very soft and does not provide much support for your foot at all. In the genuine Uggs, it is very firm - just as firm as the heel guard in the Ugg Classic boots (I have a pair of these too) - and provides much more support for your foot. The cardy material is also much firmer and better quality.

The soft cardy part that wraps round your legs and ankles is very firm and probably feels too small at first. However, it doesn't take long for the material to stretch and feel a tad more comfortable.

The general fit around the foot is also VERY snug. At first, I thought the boots were too small and I would need to return them for the next size up. However, as I had ordered my normal size (6), and going by what I read (that you should usually order a size DOWN in these boots), I thought I should do some research online. And I discovered that these boots are meant to feel very snug at first because the cardy material will stretch to accommodate your feet and you will be left with a perfect-fitting boot. So that reassured me and after a full day's wear, that turned out to be correct and my boots now fit perfectly.

The soles of the genuine Ugg boots are also a lot better - much more flexible. They bend as you walk and don't feel like you're wearing a pair of skis! Given the flexible cardy material, I had expected that these boots would slip up and down on the heel area as you walk, but I have - so far - not found this at all. This might happen as they stretch with more wear, though. This is why your Ugg boots should be a very snug fit - the looser they are, the more likely they are to stretch further and become too loose to walk in.

Overall, I'm very pleased with my cardy Ugg boots. However, as an owner of the Classic Tall Ugg boots, I have noticed significant differences between them and my classic boots do remain my firm favourites.
Firstly, the cardy boots are not as snug. Yes, they have a genuine sheepskin footbed which is very snug and moulds to the shape of your foot. But they are not completely lined in sheepskin, like the classic boots. This means that they are not as snug overall, and your feet won't be as toasty in them as they will be in the classic boots. I wore my cardy boots outside for the first time on a very cold day - I won't be doing that again! I'll stick to my classic boots for the bitterly cold days.
Secondly, they're obviously not as practical. You are not supposed to get any Ugg boots wet - including the classic boots - but the cardy boots are even less practical in wet weather, and if the rain is heavy enough, your feet will get wet. Wear these boots on dry days, or when you won't be spending long periods of time outside - given that the British weather can be very unpredictable!
And finally, they're not as supportive for your feet as the classic boots because of the flexible nature of the cardy material.

My final conclusion is that these boots are great and look lovely on, but shouldn't be worn all the time due to their slightly unpractical nature and the lack of foot support. I love my cardy Uggs but I'll be waiting until the weather gets a bit warmer to wear them again!

Well worth the price!5
Beautiful colour and snug fit. Lovely fleece lined insole. Great to be adaptable from ankle boot to knee-high. Very snuggly and well worth the price. Don't bother with cheaper imitations get the real thing!

Not for slim feet4
The colour is lovely and the knitted effect is a bonus so my feet do not overheat. However, I have slim feet and a low instep which makes this model a little too wide. Not for long walks or all day wearing.
