Manufacturer's Description
Paul Fisher and his associates invented the pressurised Space Pen in 1965 at their company's own expense. The pen was later adopted by NASA after testing to be used on all manned space flights.

With its sealed, pressurised ink cartridge, the Space Pen is the only type of pen that works in the freezing cold, the boiling heat, the gravity-free vacuum of space. It is used on all manned space flights - American and Russian.

Imitated but never duplicated, the classic design of the Fisher Space Pen, known as the 'Bullet', has been cited as an outstanding example of industrial art, and the pen has been exhibited in the New York Museum of Modern Art for many years.

Paul Fisher's devotion to accuracy and his dedication to quality allow us to guarantee that your Fisher Space Pens will give you years of clean, reliable writing - even under extreme conditions.

    Very durable5
The Fisher Bullet Space Pen is a classic design, and perfect for a pocket. However, the regular chrome model tend to lose its coating after extended use, and other colours aren't much better. The titanium nitride coating of this model seems to much more durable. My other Space pens have all eventually become worn, with brass showing through the coating, either from friction with the cap against the barrel, or from the pen hitting other objects in my pocket. However, I have owned this model for two years and it shows no sign of wear. The cap fits smoothly over the back of the pen (unlike the black models where the fit is less certain). This model and the all-aluminium telescoping Space Pen are well worth the extra money. The cartridges are the standard Fisher style, and come in a wide range of widths and colours. As another reviewer noted, you occasionally get a dud with the pressurized cartridges, but overall it is a real workhorse of a pen.

This pen is basically 3 bits of metal that screw together to form a pen!
The design is sleek looking and fits well in the hand, It writes beautifully too. Personally i would definitely purchase the (Sold separately!) pocket clip because the pen is small and quite easy to lose in your pocket otherwise.
Final point is be careful of the refills, the cartridge that comes with the pen is great but i have tried a sucession of refills that have all sorts of problems with the ink flow

    From Nasa to earthlings4
Very pleased with the product as convalescing in bed it is now so easy to do crosswords as the pen writes upside down.
So impressed I bought several for Christmas presents and a relative who is a pilot thought the idea that it would write upside down and under water was a good idea !!!

Only problem is that the surface is slippery and needs a clip to attatch it to paperwork/pocket. Could imagine dropping it on an areoplane or crowded area could be a problem loacted it.

    Fabulous colour.
