SANYO can ship the batteries to Amazon in an already charged state, without losing its power, because of it very low self-discharge. This means that you are purchasing an already charged battery.
eneloop is as user-friendly as a disposable battery. Once charged, it keeps its charge for up to 6 to 12 months - (90 per cent of the charge after 6 months, 85 per cent after 12 months)

In contrast to a disposable battery, eneloop can be charged up to 1000 times, thus eliminating the waste of 999 disposable batteries.

Using eneloop rechargeable batteries really does pay off. Considering the cost of the eneloop battery, compared to a disposable battery, plus cost for the charger and the energy consumed by the charger, the investment for one eneloop returns easily after a few charging cycles. Now there's an end to this spending.

These are absolutely the best batteries I've ever had. Being fully charged straight out of the packet is ideal - why aren't rechargeable batteries always sold that way? All I can say is, don't buy other batteries, get these ones.

Best of the Best LSD Rechargeables, what the professional would use.
This battery is extremely good! Absalutely no problem with high current drain up to 4 Ampere! The low self discharge means that it will always retain its charge for a very-very-very long period, so if you charge it up today and use it after 2 months, it will still perform like freshly charged. Amazing batteries. Eneloop ranks the best for all LSD batteries. Would recommend this to everyone. Can't wait for LSD batts to break the 2000mAh capacity. Go Sanyo!! By the way, eneloops are made in japan.

Batteries fantastic - shame about the packaging!
I think these batteries are 5 star (much better than others I've tried) - however, when they arrive the first challenge you will have is how to get them out of the packet. I am not normally daunted by such things, but this package nearly beat me. Not only is it a really tough plastic outer casing (that snapped my scissors in half), you've then got to get throught the inner packaging as well. I have no idea why it's SO necessary for this - hopefully someone will read this and take note - this level of plastic security is unnecessary!
