PIXMA MP210 Highlights |
![]() | Picolitre size The size of the ink droplets can vary, and it is this that you quite often see quoted in printer specifications as a Pico litre rating (pl). The Smaller the nozzle jet, the tinier the ink drop, so the more detailed the print image will be. |
![]() | Ink tanks/Cartridges Integrated print head and ink tank Canon’s one-click installation FINE Cartridges could not be more simple to replace. By combining both print head and ink tank, they also allow extremely compact designs so your PIXMA has a stylish and slim line shape. And because the print head is replaced with the ink, superb photo quality with fast print speeds are assured. |
![]() | Quick Start No more waiting around; Quick Start gets you going in an instant. Switch on your PIXMA, and start printing or copying in as little as 4 seconds! |
![]() | Auto Image Fix Not every photo is perfect; that’s why Canon introduces Auto Image Fix. It automatically analyses your photo, and then enhances skin tones, colour contrasts and saturations. Simply scan, and edit them with the easy-to-use software. Then reprint them to share with family and friends. |
![]() | Colour Copy A4 document colour copy speed. The advanced copy technology gives faithful colour reproduction on plain papers as well. Deliver high speed copy with beautiful photos and texts. |
![]() | Scan Scanner Optical Resolution: The CCD or CIS systems of flat-bed scanning are used in all-in-one models. Achieved maximum resolution of 600 (horizontal) x 1200 (vertical) dpi. 600dpi resolution delivers good colour scans. Scan straight to PC, email or PDF. MP Navigator EX software makes every stage of operation easier, from image search to PDF document editing. Scan your existing photo prints and re-print them to share the duplicates with family and friends, or scan faded photos and bring them back to life with the easy-to-use software. |
![]() | ChromaLife 100 ChromaLife100 is a system that improves the beauty and permanence of printed images, realised with the combination of selected Canon inks and papers. By printing with the ChromaLife100 system, your printed photos will resist colour fading for longer, so they can be shared and enjoyed across generations. |

Excellent value for money
I bought this printer several months ago, and cannot fault the printer. It comes with a set of ink cartridges and is easy to install the printer software. Within minutes you are up and running. The printer is quiet and reasonably fast in both printing color, and black and white pages. The printer even has a silent mode, but i've never used it.
The printer is fairly large in size and requires a decent space on your computer desk, but im just nit picking here......
If you want a quality printer that copys, prints and does good quality a4 photographs, and your budget is limited, then this is a fab buy.
Just a note, that the set of ink cartridges to replace are the cost of the printer.........!!!!!!!
Brilliant, so much better than epson!
After having 2 different Epson printers, I was so amazed by the difference between the two. This Canon does not seem to eat ink every time you switch it on. It prints much faster and the prints are also much sharper. Especially when printing photos. Can't really comment on long term ink as I haven't had it long, but so far seems much better than my old epson. I would recommend this printer to anyone.
Beware! - software wiped everything off the desktop
I selected this for my mother who wanted a cheap colour printer on which she could print/scan/copy the occasional document or colour photo. She bought it at the end of March; I installed and set it up for her and it was working fine. She has hardly used it but about a month ago reported that it was no longer working insofar as it wasn't picking up the paper. Have finally got to look at it today (I live 250 miles away), and she clearly has the same problem that I've seen reported here frequently - an E2 error message and the paper roller on the right hand side simply isn't picking up properly.
To make matters worse, I decided to scan her invoice and pop it on my memory stick as a PDF in case I had to deal with this on her behalf (she is housebound) once I got home. It was the first time the (Canon) scanning software had been used. Seemed very straightforward, exactly as I would expect scanning software to look, asked it to scan the document as a PDF onto the desktop, which it appeared to do, but once it had finished the scanning process and I closed the Canon window I found that the desktop was completely blue with all icons and shortcuts gone (only the taskbar was still visible)! I restarted thinking everything would come back as before - it didn't. So I system restored to three days earlier - still a completely blue desktop. I tried remaking the shortcuts which was fine until I dragged the shortcut onto the desktop whereupon it didn't appear.
It seems as if the scanning software has put a blue screen on top of the desktop obscuring it from view. I can only think that this is some sort of software conflict - has anyone else had this problem? Unfortunately I ran out of time but on my next visit I will completely uninstall the Canon Pixma MP210 software and hope that that will resolve the issue.
As for the printer, given that my mother has only had it 10 weeks, has hardly used it and it is now unusable, and this seems to be a common fault (but, unfortunately, I hadn't seen it flagged up when I was researching for her), I can only suggest you avoid it like the plague. Incidentally, she did, however, eventually get her £20 refund but it was a long wait.
