Clear guidance for advanced riding trainees and instructors alike5
`The Assessment of Advanced Motorcycling' has been prepared to help both trainers and trainees for an advanced motorcycling test. The book's unique strength is its clarity.

The author has divided the book into chapters such as Filtering, Overtaking and Cornering. Each chapter has paragraphs marked "essential" and "desirable", which outline advanced skills and competencies. This transparency and simplicity will greatly assist instructors and trainees alike.

This book sits in between the dated, over-simplified `How to be an Advanced Motorcyclist' and tremendously comprehensive `Motorcycle Roadcraft'.

One downside is the chapter on filtering. Whilst it makes helpful reading, the author's `Not the Blue Book' is even better with a table of invaluable filtering tips.

Observers, tutors, professional instructors, associates and trainees for the Institute of Advanced Motorists, RoSPA Advanced Drivers & Riders Association or BMF Blue Riband could benefit greatly from this book. Trainees undertaking the renowned OCN level 2, 3 or 4 course with the likes of UK Advanced or RideDrive could benefit too. Pre-advanced riders, such as those taking the Enhanced Rider Scheme or BikeSafe, could find `The Assessment of Advanced Motorcycling' insightful too.
