For Rose Hathaway, life as a Guardian-in-training at St. Vladimir's Academy is never easy.

While her best friend, future charge, and sole remaining member of the royal family member (Lissa) may no longer be in direct danger, the Strigoi (those vampires who drink blood, possess super-strength, have red pupils, and also have no qualms about using their powers over the elements as a method of attack) are still the greatest threat facing their Moroi counterparts.

Rose and her number-one crush, instructor Dimitri Belakov, discover just how significant this threat is when they arrive at what should have been Rose's make-up Qualifier exam with famed Guardian Arthur Schoenberg. What they find instead is seven royal Moroi, massacred in their own home along with their Guardians - and evidence that the Strigoi are now being helped by humans.

With Christmas vacation drawing near, St. Vlad's is on high alert and not terribly inclined to unleash their students into the great wide world. A school field trip to an exclusive Moroi ski lodge is the perfect solution, not just for a Moroi seeking to elude the Strigoi, but also for Rose, who's looking to escape two recent female campus arrivals - one of whom has a history and penchant for flirting with Dimitri.

What guests from St. Vlad's and elsewhere will soon realize, though, is that their enemies are much closer than they think.

FROSTBITE is an engrossing, complex paranormal follow-up to VAMPIRE ACADEMY, with a page-turning plot and deeply layered characters, whose growth and development over the course of the novel is believable and (in some cases) inevitable. Though there were a few scenes that lagged, I had a hard time putting this book down even for necessities like eating and sleeping.

Frostbite is one of those books that are so good.Making it impossible to put it down.I recommend it hugely!

Rose hathaway`s got serious guy trouble.Her gourgeous tutor Dimitri is trying to move on beacause he realises that rose and him can never be together.Can rose move on too?

strigoi,evil imortal vampires,are now banding together to kill moroi,aka the good vampires.But now they are proving to be a better oponent than anyone in they`re wildest dreams imagined.

A massive attack puts vampire academy on high alert.Meaning that a lot of kickasss guardians are now trying to protect the academy.Including janine hathaway,roses ,long absent mam.

so this year the academy have decided to make all of the students go to a fancy ski resort in order to protect them.

But the ski resort is starting to look not so safe...........
can rose win back dimitri,while sorting out mason a really cute guy that is always trying to win her affections and protect lissa from unknown dangers??????????????

Rose is in love with Dimitri but because of the 7 year age difference, the fact he's her teacher and they are both going to be Lissa's Guardian Dimitri tells Rose they can't be together. Dimitri is then propositioned to be Tasha's(Christians auntie) Guardian with benefits. When Rose hears about this she is heart broken and her a Dimitri start arguin...ALOT. Although we don't know throuout the book if Dimitri has took this offer it is very sad to see Rose so heart broken.
Aswell as this the academy is on very high alert because of a strigoi attack and are taken on a Skiing trip for the christmas holidays. Because of this we get to be intropduced to some awsome Guardians including Rose's Mother. Although you don't see her as a good mother at all you do respect her because she is one fantastic guardian. During this high alert also learn alot of things about the Strigoi. This results in the training guardians Rose, Eddie and Mason and the Moroi's(full vampires with magical properties magical properties) Christian and Mia coming face to face with them.

A fantastic read coming from my favourite book series Vampire academy. You relate to the characters and the love between rose and dimitri. You realise that the reasons they can't be together are good reasons(most of them ) but the fact remains the are ment for eachother and you can't help but hope that the next time they have a meeting they'll decide to have a proper relationship.
