About the Author
Glynis Cooper comes from a Manchester family of hatters and spinners. She has trained in the professions of archaeology and librarianship and this, together with her family background, makes her uniquely qualified for researching local history in the North West. She has written two previous books for Breedon Books: Hidden Manchester (2004) and Salford: An Illustrated History (2005).
