Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover
The rules have changed. Everything you believe is suspect. The world is up for grabs. Welcome to the emerging postmodern culture. A "free zone" of rapid change that places high value on community, authenticity, and even God--but has little interest in modern, Western-tinged Christianity. Postmodern Youth Ministry addresses these enormous philosophical shifts and shows how they’re affecting teenagers.

About the Author
Tony Jones is minister to youth and young adults at Colonial Church of Edina in Minnesota, author of the critically acclaimed Postmodern Youth Ministry (Youth Specialties), and has an M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary. He’s been published in Youthworker journal and is a regular speaker at Youth Specialties’ National Youth Workers Conventions.

Customer Reviews

Postmodern Youth Ministry4
Tony Jones does a great job defining Postmodernism (finally!) as well as looking through the eyes of a youth pastor at the postmodern world of young people. I recommend this book to anyone working with youth in any setting. Our world is moving faster than we are. If you want to start studying what postmodernism is all about, and you work with youth, pick up this book first! It will take you on the road toward understanding the postmodern mindset in order to minister to young people more effectively. A word of warning to the reader who likes paragraphs and reading in order.... it is a bit strangely formatted, but simply to stretch your mind to the postmodern way of thinking!
