This marvellous book, written 400 years ago, is one of the great classics of western spirituality, and it is still very relevant today. It contains practical advice for living every day with God, aimed at people in all walks of life. This book has been an inspiration for me for years, and Francis de Sales is a friend for life.

Should be essential reading for all Catholics!
I just love this book and re-read it often. It is so accessible and so spiritually encouraging and edifying. St Francis de Sales truly had the gift of communicating profound truths lucidly and succinctly, and his book has had so much impact on my own faith. It is a wonderful, kind, sincere, step by step guide to growing closer to God and just like sitting with a wonderfully wise and learned, gentle but truthful priest and having him open up the door of faith to you.
